H.O.G.® Oxford UK ChapterThis year, the annual Harley-Davidson “Toy Run” to the children’s hospital at the John Radcliff (JR) has been renamed “The Jake Spicer Memorial Run” in memory of Jake, an honorary member of the Oxford UK Chapter, who sadly lost his fight against cancer last year.

On 18 April, H.O.G.® members from three local chapters will descend on the hospital delivering toys and gifts to the children’s ward.

Growing in strength every year the organisers from the UK chapter are hoping for a big turn out. Last year, approximately 170 Harley Davidson® motorcycles left the Oxford Harley-Davidson dealership at Wootton Abingdon in a convoy, escorted by two police motorcycles from the Thames Valley Police Force, en route to the Children’s hospital.

This thundering mass of chrome was supported by the general public who cheered and waved from the roadside and bridges along the route around the southern by-pass.

On arrival, some of the children from the hospital and their parents sat on the bikes to have their photographs taken while the nurses distributed the toys and gifts throughout the wards.
