Team Motorpoint HendersonRob Mac Racing riders Chris Walker and Graeme Gowland had a very satisfying qualifying session for the 6th round of the British Superbike Championship but not so lucky was Jon Kirkham who suffered hand injuries after taking a fall in the second session.

Chris Walker set himself up for a front row start finishing in 2nd position after the first two F1 style times sessions, with the 3rd and final sessions marred with a crash and a stoppage Chris did not quite match his best lap but set himself up for a second row start position and prime spot for one of his famous electric starts.

"All in all we had a good day in the office! We have made positive steps with the bike and I can now run good consistent lap times, I was really pushing for the front row but after the stoppage I did not have the same grip.

Great for the boys and I'm up for the battle and a good start should see me mixing it"

Graeme Gowland the Superbike ‘rookie' equalled his best qualifying position with a fantastic 8th position and starts alongside Chris on the second row.

"That was great, I managed to find some time in the first sector of the track and instantly my times came down. I feel like I can run with the front bunch now and if I can hang onto Chris from the start we could have a good day"

Jon Kirkham had been making great progress over the weekend and looked comfortable with his race set up, pushing for grid position Jon got caught out and suffered a pretty hard crash. It is too early to tell the extent of damage to his hand but we are hoping not too bad and he can get back to work as soon as possible.

"I can't believe the luck we are having with the red bike, Dan is at home recovering from a broken foot and now Jon with a broken hand, I hope they get back on their bikes as soon as poss

It's a shame the bad luck dampened a otherwise fantastic day, Chris and Graeme have stepped up and found a great race pace, the times are incredibly close and a ‘Walker' start will definitely give us a chance to mix it up at the front"
