Mattis KarroIt was a tough but positive return home for MVR-D Suzuki rider Mattis Karro at the weekend, as the young Latvian returned to grand prix action at his home round in Latvia.

Forced out of World action last month after sustaining injury, Karro returned to the world stage this weekend, riding at the Motocenter track near Kegums in Latvia, finishing in 12th overall on his RM-Z250.

Despite a crash in his heat race on Saturday and a subsequent poor gate position, race one would see a strong ride from the MVR-D rider, bringing his RM-Z250 from a lowly 30th position in the opening stages of the race to finish in a impressive 13th. Race two would see a carbon copy performance, charging from the back of the field once again, moving as high as tenth place before tiring, and settling for an improved 12th at the flag.

Team manager, Mark Chamberlain commented, "We can come away from Latvia feeling positive. Mattis rode strongly today and considering this is his first GP back from injury I think the results are something to be proud of. We now head straight to Sweden, where we hope to climb higher up the results table."

Back at home In the MMX Championship held at Blaxhall in Suffolk, Carl Nunn flew the MVR-D flag high, finishing third in the first race, before going on to win his second, ending the day
