Seeing Red 2009 – A Photographic record of the 2009 British Superbike Championship by Double Red

Seeing Red 2009 by Double RedIf you read the motorcycle press, you will definitely have spent time looking at top class images of racing and road test bikes supplied by Double Red. Without doubt they have established themselves as the premier photo-agency covering the MCE Insurance British Superbike series amongst other top class motorcycle events like the Isle of Man TT.

Double Red have been involved in the domestic Superbikes series since 1989 capturing the highs and lows, as well as providing images of what goes on behind the scenes. For the past few years they have produced a hardback coffee table book packed full of some of the best colour images of each round, as well as chapters on the top ten riders and teams.

This year’s volume has just been published and maintains the impeccably high standards set with previous tomes, helping to build a photographic record of the home championship over the years. There are few words, only used when necessary, the pictures are allowed to tell the story and they do so in a very dramatic fashion.
What is really good is that different angles and locations have been used throughout to take the shots rather than just coming up with stylised racing images, which is why Double Red are used by so many teams and manufacturers. Not only are the images top class and pin sharp, so is the layout and quality of the book.

If you are a race fan, it is a must have book on the shelf to look back on and remember. If you are not you still need to have one as an example of how to take top class pictures.

Published by Double Red at a modest £30.00 given the quality, it can be bought direct from them at www.doublered.co.uk
