Harley-Pilgrimage - The Road to Shipley DVD by Captured Vision AssociatesThis 45 minute DVD is exceptionally well made with good camera work and a coherent storyline throughout. It focus’s on the annual Harley Davidson Rally based at the village of Baildon in West Yorkshire and in particular their 29th in 2008.

Though interviews, it tells the story of how this event came to be such a success with riders attending from all over Europe as well as the UK. Bikes are filmed with their riders and on the various runs throughout the stunning scenery of West Yorkshire.

However, as many of those interviewed point out buying a Harley does not automatically buy you into the lifestyle which is what this programme majors on. Those interviewed all say it takes time to understand that aspect of HD ownership. As the author and co-author on several HD books, as well as a previous owner, I agree very much with their sentiments.

Bearing this in mind I had difficulty in seeing who this DVD is aimed at, other than those who regularly attend the rally, or as a promo for the rally. As a general programme for mainstream TV it would be OK to show that all HD riders are not members of notorious bike gangs, just ordinary people having a good time, or something to show in an HD showroom like Leeds HD who sponsored the making of it.

Priced from £17.99 it is available from  www.ebay.co.uk , Harley-Davidson stores, www.shipley-harley-club.co.uk , www.amazon.co.uk , www.thebikerguide.co.uk and from Duke Video (Ref CVADVD01): Tel 01624 640000, fax 01624 640 001 or email mail@dukevideo.com or visit www.dukevideo.com
