Enduro Classics Vol 2 by Duke VideoThis is the second compilation of classic films featuring off-road action from the past thanks to the great demand for the first DVD. Given the fact that while there are plenty of old films on road racing, there are not so many on Enduros and Duke are to be congratulated on tracking down even more quality footage of the great events of the past.

First up is footage from the BP Video library on the International Six Day Trial with colour footage of the ‘Olympics of Motorcycling’ in 1960 and 1966, which is then topped off with a look at the final round of the 1981 European Two Day Enduro Championship.

Apart from marvelling at the stamina needed to ride these events on heavy old bikes, it is good opportunity to see and hear what are now ‘classic’ dirt bikes in action, including machines from Moto Guzzi, Royal Enfield, Puch, AJS, MZ, Maico, Cagiva, KTM and even a Lambretta!

The programme starts with a 1960 Castrol film made by David Wood about the 35th ISDT, based around Bad Aussee in Austria. It follows each day of the battle for both the International Trophy, and the Silver Vase.

The next film, Ife Er Folge, charts the 41st ISDT, held in Sweden in 1966 before the action finally moves back to Austria for the final round of the ultra-competitive European Two Day Enduro Championship.

As usual the period films are very watchable and you have to marvel at the quality given what was then basic cameras and equipment - no on board digital stuff for these film makers!

All I can say is that this is another nicely matched 70 minutes of dirt action from the classic era that entertains and will give dirt fans lots of pleasure as they re-run this DVD on a regular basis. Great value as ever for a modest £19.99 Ref: DVD 2085
