The Link Strap Review

E-mail

The Link StrapFor years the ubiquitous ‘Bungee strap’ has ruled the waves and allowed numerous riders to attach all sorts of things to a motorcycle. Despite the odd case of the end coming off and causing injury, the elastic chord has done sterling service and dealt with all sorts of abuse.

The biggest problem has always been the potential damage the metal hooked end has done to paintwork no matter how careful you are. In extreme case under real provocation the hook has unwound and let go depositing the load on the roadway, or age has caused it to snap.

However, it now looks as though its days could be numbered thanks to a product called the Link Strap. Basically this is a lime green (so it can be seen) strip of flat rubber with long slots in it. At either end are double arrow heads that locate into the slots, either to form a loop to attach to something, or to join another strap for greater length.

The straps have absolutely nothing to scratch paint or corrode. They do not absorb water and are impervious to petrol and oil and are easily wiped clean when they get dirty. Should in extreme cases they break you can just continue using them by joining the remains to another strap.

I have been using a pair now for a coupe of months and cannot fault it in any respect. Now it is just a case of threading it through without worrying about scratching anything, it is a lot easier to release and the risk to fingers and eyes is eliminated. It uses are almost unlimited and I have even seen somebody strap a trials bike to a trailer with them, such is their tensile strength!

An excellent product that is well priced. Available from BSH Solutions Tel: 01782 844933 or via the website http://www.linkstrap.co.uk/
