Before you dismiss this as yet another book telling you how to ride, read on a little. Reg Pridmore is a Brit who was one of the original ‘Ton Up’ boys from the Ace Café era. He went racing as a result and continued to be successful when he emigrated to the USA.
He became a three time AMA Champion, he ran a dealership, raced sidecars including riding at the TT. In fact there is little that he has not done on two and three wheels. Obviously with that sort of track record he knows what he is talking about when it comes to riding and motorcycling in general.
No surprise then with that sort of background that he started up a riding school called CLASS, which has become one of the most successful in the US. From this he has learnt over the past 20 years how to put across the message about safe smooth riding, both on the road and track.
As a result he manages to impart this accumulated knowledge in the same easy going style in 160 pages of soft-back that is divided into chapters that can be easily dipped in and out of. Well illustrated with lots of colour plates and easy to understand diagrams, it makes an excellent read.
It has information on the psychology of riding, weight shifting, body positioning and throttle management as well as bike set-up. The whole style is easier than say ‘A Twist of the Wrist’ and you cannot fail to learn something no matter how long you have been riding.
Highly recommended even if you never go near a racetrack and it is well worth the $24.95 asking price.
